After receiving reports that a dog at a Pine Street residence was getting out of its yard and terrorizing man and beast alike at its Nov. 16 meeting, the Custer City Council heard an update on the issue from city attorney Terri Williams, with Williams saying a joint meeting was held between Custer County Sheriff Marty Mechaley, Battle Mountain Humane Society and city officials.
Ordinances regarding animals at large were discussed at the meeting, as was whether or not the residence in question had been the subject of complaints before, which it had been once in 2018.
