Custer came into regionals with a win versus Lead-Deadwood in its final regular season game, but the Wildcats suffered a loss to Hill City Nov. 1, losing regionals in the first round.
The Rangers again took all three sets versus Custer in this most recent match on Hill City’s home court; Custer couldn’t maintain any lead and lost each set 25-9, 25-21, 25-10.
Custer finished its 2022 season with a 12-19 record, with three of these wins being four or five set battles.
The Wildcats’ 2023 volleyball team is expected to be a competitive mix of upperclassmen with most likely five seniors and four juniors.
Custer’s coaching staff (head coach Jill Hohn, assistant coaches Miranda Jaure and Alexa Winkler) thank the athletes, parents and community for its support all season.
