That's a wrap for Ranger girls basketball

After postponing due to weather, the Hill City High School Ranger girls basketball team traveled to the Custer Armory on Feb. 23 where the Ranger girls faced the Wildcats for the Girls Basketball Class A Region 8 Quarterfinal. 
The Ranger girls played a strong game with a 76.5 free throw percentage in comparison with Custer's 66.7 free throw percentage. 
Lillie Ross led the scoring for the Rangers with 20 points, two rebounds and three out of four three-point field goals. Meanwhile, Maggie Taylor scored 15 points, 14 rebounds and seven out of seven free throws. 
Anna Dean scored eight points for the Rangers along with four rebounds and two assists. In Addition, Cara Ronish and Alaina Dean each scored two points and an unknown athlete scored another five. 
All told the Ranger girls defeated the Wildcats 52-45. 
Next, on Feb. 25 the Ranger girls traveled to St. Thomas More High School for the Class A Region 8 Semifinal against the Cavaliers. The Cavaliers came to the game with a standing of 16-4 compared to the Rangers' 11-9. 
In the end, the Cavaliers won 42-26. This wrapped up the season for the Hill City High School Ranger girls basketball team.
