Subscription policy has been well-received

It’s been a couple of months since we implemented our new subscription model and it seems to have been well-received by our subscribers.
For those of you who don’t know, our new subscription policy is that regardless of where you live or whether or not you are a snowbird, a subscription to the Custer County Chronicle is $50 per year. The same is true of our sister paper, the Hill City Prevailer News. This includes an option of three different delivery options—hard copy in the mail, website subscription or email subscription sent straight to your inbox. You can have one or all three of these options with a single subscription. You can also just come into the office and pick your paper up if you so choose.
In addition to the new pricing model, we also started a program where we are donating 20 percent of the money we received from each subscription to the area nonprofit of your choice. That has also been well-received, and we will distribute the money quarterly. We have had many nonprofits ask to be an option for people to donate to, and we are happy to oblige. Right now we have over 50 nonprofits that will be receiving a donation. Some may only receive a small amount, but every little bit helps, right?
We are grateful to live in a community where there are so many nonprofits who work hard to make Custer and the Black Hills in general a better place to live. We had no idea just how many nonprofits there were in the area until the suggested starting pouring in. If you know of others, don’t hesitate to let us know. We can’t offer them support if we don’t know they exist!
Thank you for your continued support! This is your newspaper, and together we can continue our mission, to bring you the news in a fair and honest manner, while also giving back to the community. It’s a win-win for all involved.
