Ruth Kujawski

Ruth Anne Kujawski of Custer, S.D., born Aug. 24, 1953, went to be with the Lord Dec. 15, 2024.
Ruth was born in Oakland, Calif., to Clarence and Imogene Campbell.  She was the youngest of three and had a genuine love for life and people.
Ruth married the love of her life, Russell Kujawski, in 1988 and spent 36 years loving him. In 1995, they decided it was time for a big change and moved with their little family to Nebraska. Although they made many happy memories there, they both knew that it wasn’t their forever home when they started taking their vacations in beautiful South Dakota. After 10 years of vacations, they found their home in Custer.
Ruth was loving and kind. She always tried to show people the love of the Lord with her actions and words. She was known for her sassy and stubborn ways at times, but also for her unwavering determination, love, and support for her family, friends and community.
Ruth was an avid gardener and loved sharing all of her fresh pickings with her neighbors and friends.  Even getting used to planting season in South Dakota didn’t stop her from giving it her all. She was just happy being out in the garden and watching life grow from a small seed.
She also enjoyed reading and would always make sure there was plenty on her Kindle. It seemed there was never a time when she didn’t have a book downloaded and ready to go.
Although she wasn’t a member of the CMA Rushmore Thunder Chapter, you could see her there with her husband, Russ, a member and Co-Chaplain. She loved helping out and the fellowship that came with it.
Ruth was simply an amazing and beautiful person. She loved hard and tried to show her four children how to navigate this world with love, strength, compassion and faith. Her passing will forever be a significant loss for  her husband and children. The only solace is knowing she is happy and whole, with our Father in Heaven.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Imogene Campbell; and her siblings, David Campbell and Jane Lund.
She is survived by her husband, Russell Kujawski; her children, Casey Mosher, Meghan Carter, Erin Mosher and her fiancé’, Jeff, and David Kujawski and his wife, Gwyn; her grandchildren, Lane Schoff, Allyson Schoff, Liam Mosher, Quinn Mosher, Luka Kujawski and unborn baby Kujawski; and her parents-in-law, Norman and Marian Kujawski.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 21 at Crossroads Church in Custer followed by funeral service at 11 a.m.
Committal service will be held at Custer Cemetery.
Arrangements have been placed in the care of Chamberlain McColley’s Funeral Home in Custer.
