Robert Larson

Robert D. “Bob” Larson was born May 18, 1941, at home in Custer, S.D. He started school at the Mayo School and later moved to town.
In 1955 he moved to Delmont, S.D., to live with an aunt and uncle on the farm. He graduated from Delmont High School in 1960. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1960-64. Bob married Virginia Haring in 1967 after he moved to Wisconsin.
Bob loved to come back to the Black Hills of South Dakota. While in the Hills, he always made time to listen to the wind blow through the pines and look for bluebirds.
Bob, of West Bend, Wis., formerly Custer, went to meet his Savior Jesus Christ on March 3, 2022, surrounded by loved ones. He was 80.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia; parents, Donald Larson and Myra (O’Connell) Larson; brothers, Melvin and Jack Larson; grandchildren, Bo, Zach nd Kendra; and cousin, George Larson.
Bob is survived by his children, Kirk (Julie), Kristine (Todd) Wiedmeyer, Karen Nicholas, Kyle (Melanie);  daughter-in-law, Gina; 19 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Donna (Marvin) Hammer of Custer; brother, Bill (Mona Lee) Larson of Fon du Lac, Wis.; half-sister, Kellie (Dorel) Nelson, half-brother, Ralph Larson and Warroad, Minn.; cousin, Jay Larson of Mitchell, S.D.; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held March 19 at Jug’s Hitching Post second floor, 5781 Main St., West Bend, Wis., (Kohlsville) from 1-4 p.m.
