Rita Anfinson

Rita Louise Anfinson was born May 29, 1946, in Sioux Falls, S.D., to Rita E. (Thompson) Willis and Joe H. Willis.
Professionally, Rita made a career of caring for others working as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Sioux Valley Hospital, the Hot Springs (S.D.) VA Medical Center and Michael J. Fitzmaurice State Veterans Home.
Rita was united in marriage to Roland Anfinson Jan. 1, 2001, in Sioux Falls, S.F., after a 20-year courtship.
Rita was blessed with three sons: Joseph (Kelli) Willis of Sioux Falls; Dale (Mona) Phillips of Sioux Falls and Charlie Weiker. Charlie preceded Rita in death.
Rita enjoyed spending time with her husband, family, friends as well as Maggie, their faithful and ever-present pooch.
Rita enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and travel.
Rita passed away Sept. 1, 2022, at Monument Health Hospital following a stroke. She was 76.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Charlie; and her brother, Patrick Willis.
Rita is survived by her husband, Roland; sons, Joe (Kelli) and Dale (Mona); brother, Michael (Angela) Willis of Hot Springs; five grandchildren; many great- grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother-in-law, Ricky (Sandra) Anfinson of Sherman, S.D.; sister-in-law, Barbara (Steve) Hayes of Sioux Falls; and a plethora of other family and friends.
Services will be held Sept. 17 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 744 Harney St.,  at 11 a.m
