Rangers shut out Philip Scotties

The Rangers football teams improved to 6-1 with a resounding 53-0 shut out win over the Scotties of Philip Friday night.
The game was called off after the first half as once again the Rangers made play after play both offensively and defensively.
Quarterback Devin Buehler made some outstanding plays in the first quarter including finding a wide-open Brensen Veneklasen on a 41-yard play that put the Rangers up by 26.
The Rangers were able to make long plays against the Scotties including a pass by Beuhler to Zane Messick resulting in a 70-yard gain and another score for the Rangers with under a minute to go in the first quarter.
The quarter ended with the Rangers leading by a score of 33-0.
The Rangers increased their lead in the second quarter with a hand-off to Junior Caleb Sobolik who slipped into the end zone from four yards out, increasing the lead to 40-0.
A Scotties quarterback sack by Hill City’s Drake Wilkison sealed the fate of the team and the game.
The Rangers play their last game of the regular season away against Kadoka (4-2) Oct. 1.
