Mary Glass

Mary D. Glass was born July 1, 1963, in El Paso, Texa to Graciela and Albino Dominguez. She grew up in a large loving family, one of six siblings in Alameda, Calif., and graduated from Encinal High School in 1981.
As a child, Mary was “the cute one,” took flute lessons and when the family traveled, she would wave her little toes at the other drivers in her cute way.
In 1988 she married Robert Glass and they had two daughters, Melissa and Alexus. Mary was proud of and loved her job working for the Alameda County Sheriff’s Department, retiring after 35 years.
No one was ever bored around Mary, as she was a very outgoing person who loved to let loose and dance to her favorite music, attend concerts, sporting events and street festivals and go on shopping trips and spontaneous adventures with her family and friends.
She had lifelong friendships, including as part of the “M&Ms,” with countless memories full of laughter and fun get togethers. But Mary’s favorite role was that of grandmother, or “Grammy,” as she was known. She was a natural, immediately creating close bonds with her beloved granddaughter and grandson, Bellawulf and Odin Davis. Indeed, nothing made Mary feel such complete joy and smile as broadly as her grandchildren.
Driven by that love, she recently moved to Custer, S.D., so she could spend more time with her grandbabies. Although she was only given 58 years on earth, Mary packed a lot of life into that time and positively impacted many people. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Mary passed away March 22, 2022. She was 58.
She was preceeded in death by her mother and her sister, Elva Hernandez.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Melissa (Aaron) Davis of Custer and Alexus Glass of Custer; father, Albino Dominguez of Alameda, Calif.; brothers, Sergio Dominguez of Alameda, Calif., and Albino Dominguez of Arizona; sisters, Letty (Daniel) Lopez of Alameda, and Velia (Gabe) Longoria of Alameda; brother-in-law, Alfredo Hernandez of El Paso; and two grandchildren, Bellawulf and Odin of Custer (children of Aaron and Melissa Davis).
