Loren Lyndoe

Loren David Lyndoe was born Dec. 26, 1955, to Arthur and Anne Lyndoe. They had five children,  Larry, Lorraine, Shirley, Jim and Loren. He grew up in Custer, S.D., and graduated from Custer High School in 1974.
He married his high school sweetheart Phyllis (Bryant) Lyndoe May 23, 1981, and together they had one daughter, Kelsey Lyndoe.
He spent his life working in the concrete industry, from driving and pouring to eventually running a plant. He eventually retired but never stopped working and could be found early in the morning cutting firewood, helping friends and finding a project to work on.
While in High School he played basketball and football and kept active later in life through adult softball, bowling and golf. He also loved hunting and fishing.  He had many great stories, some true and others maybe a little less true.
He was a big man with a personality to match. He was a storyteller, an excellent hugger, a fabulous baker and quick with a joke. He loved early mornings and coffee with his friends, teasing his wife and daughter and caring for the livestock (his many pets through the years).   He was truly outstanding.
Loren, of Custer, passed away the morning of Oct. 7, 2021. He was 65.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Larry, Lorraine and Shirley; and brother-in-law, Ted Bryant.
Loren is survived by his wife, Phyllis; daughter, Kelsey; brother, Jim (Karla) Lyndoe; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be at Custer Lutheran Fellowship Oct. 15 at 10 a.m. followed by a luncheon. There will be a celebration of life at Rocky Knolls Golf Course Saturday, Oct. 16 at 2 p.m.
