Larry Allen Moore

Larry Allen Moore, 75, passed away peacefully Dec. 11, 2020 at Custer Monument Health after years with multiple health battles. 

Larry was born on 1-25-45 in Murdo, S.D. to A.C. & Agness Moore. He grew up in Wood and White River, S.D. After graduating from Wood High School in 1962, Larry continued his education in the School of Hard Knocks, wearing many different hats, including: barber, feedlot foreman, Justice of the Peace, unofficial deputy, truck driver under the handle White Thunder, traveling with his band Country Pride, farmer, rancher, boxer, bull dogger, gas station operator, sanitation man, miner, builder, tow truck driver, business owner and all-around handy man.

Larry married Cheryl in 1963 and had Marty, Mike and Lisa. In 1979 he married Jayne and had Morgan and Megan. In 1994 Larry married Karen and became step-dad to Jarod, Crystal and Leslie.

Larry enjoyed music, hunting, fishing for short amounts of time, tinkering, riding his favorite horse, John, reading, attending grandkids events, mechanizing, welding, trucking, working with cattle and keeping a meticulously manicured lawn.

He is survived by his wife, Karen; his children, Marty, Mike (Sara) Moore, Lisa (Tony) Wirth, Morgan (Seth) Miller, Megan (Jared) Shear, Jarod (Becki) Groven, Crystal (Jim) Wiese, and Leslie (Chace) Larsen; his sister, Twila; his grandkids, Kelsie, Tyler, Kade, Andrew, Christian, Phoebe, Chloe, Abigail, Carson, Caden, Austin, Cody, Kyle, Riley, Mason, Kelsey, Bridger, Sawyer, Colter and many great-grandkids, nieces, nephews, and other family. He was preceded in death by his parents & siblings.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be donated to the family to support his musical legacy.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, Dec. 20 at 2 p.m. at the Little White Church in Hill City.  Online guestbook may be signed at  kirkfuneralhome.com.
