Host families sought for exchange students

Have you ever considered being a host home for an international exchange student?
A local family is welcoming a student into their home for the upcoming school year. After receiving pertinent information about the exchange program, they were able to peruse a variety of student biographies, including photos, a video and a letter from the student to their prospective host family. The student was selected because of her personality and common interests and activities.
Zuzia is from Poland. This enthusiastic girl will be attending Custer High School. Zuzia will arrive in mid-August to practice with the volleyball team and get to know her family, along with other students and members of the community.
Zuzia enjoys animals, crocheting gifts and playing guitar.
“I am open to new experiences and I like meeting new people,” she said. She is looking forward to getting to know American culture and sharing some of her Polish traditions.
There are still many students hoping to be chosen to come to America for the 2023-24 school year. The students arrive with enthusiasm, gratitude and their own spending money. They immerse themselves into your home, the high school and the community. The host family provides a bed, care and support.
Two more students who seek a host home include Johannes, who is from Germany. Johannes loves spending time with friends and family. On the weekend he enjoys playing golf or tennis.
“I love to bake with my friends, as it’s always fun,” he said.
His favorite subjects in school are English and geography. He hopes to work as a flight attendant in the future, says he is scared of spiders and snakes, has a cat and hopes his host family has one, as well.
Carolina is from Denmark. She is a 15-year-old girl who is looking forward to becoming an exchange student in the USA.
“I chose the USA specifically because it’s a very beautiful, entertaining and proud country,” she said.
