Homecoming starts

This week the schools in Hill City embarked on the 99th celebration of homecoming and the activity calendar for the week is full of fun and memorable happenings for this unique marker. 
The schools kicked off a week of “Spirit Days” with all grade levels dressing as a celebrity. Students dressed as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, deputy sheriffs, singers, actors, and favorite characters from all parts of entertainment and celebrity culture. 
Tuesday and Wednesday were hillbilly/hobo and Twin Day, respectively. Thursday will be Class Color Day and of course, Friday will be the traditional Green and Gold Day with seniors wearing togas to celebrate.
Monday also saw a chili feed and the coronation of the king and queen, Tuesday the volleyball team will host Philip at home and Friday the football team will go up against Bennett County at 6:30 p.m. at Ranger Field.
Friday will also see the homecoming parade which begins downtown at 1 p.m. and, of course, the annual homecoming dance will be at the gym after the football game and will run until 10 p.m.
