Holiday church services scheduled
It’s almost Christmastime, and area churches have been busy planning their annual Christmas services, with some adding some additional services and events just for the holiday.
Custer Community Church will have its annual Christmas tea Dec. 12 at 2 p.m., with a concert duet by Lois Wells and Sharon Hansen beginning at 1:45 p.m.. Then, on Christmas Eve, the church will have a candlelight service at 5:30 with the story of Christmas and carols.
Custer Lutheran Fellowship will have two candlelight Christmas Eve services at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.. It will also offer a “longest night” service on the winter solstice, Dec. 21 at 6:30 p.m. The usual Wednesday events will not take place on Christmas day.
Living Outreach Church will have a Christmas Eve service at 6 p.m. Its usual Wednesday Life Groups will not meet on Christmas day.
Mountainview Baptist Church will have its Children’s Christmas Program and Musical on Sunday, Dec. 22, at 6 p.m. The church also has Christmas carolling scheduled for Dec. 23, also at 6 p.m. Its annual Christmas Eve service will be held at 7 p.m.
St. John the Baptist Catholic Chuch will be celebrating on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Christmas Eve mass will be at 5:30 p.m. with a musical prelude beginning at 4:30 p.m. Then, the church will celebrate Christmas Morning mass at 8 a.m.
Our Redeemer Lutheran Church will have a Christmas Eve service of lessons and carols at 7:30 p.m., and on also offer a Christmas Day Divine Service at 10 a.m. on Christmas.
Crossroads Church will have a Chrsitmas Eve service at 4:30 p.m..
Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church will have a 10 a.m. worship service on Christmas Day and will have a youth-led service on Sunday, Dec. 15.
There are also services for the holiday offered in Hermosa.
Our Savior’s Lutheran Church will have two candelit Christmas Eve services, one at 4:30 p.m. and another at 6:30 p.m.
