David Parsons

David Parsons was born Nov. 4, 1945, in Redfield, S.D., to Greer and Marcella Parsons.  He was the second of five children. He grew up in Custer, S.D., and graduated from Custer High School in 1964.
David worked in the logging industry for many years hauling logs to local sawmills. In his late career he switched over to hauling propane in the Custer area.  Dave took pride in doing a job well and loved to work and to support his family.
In July of 1971 David married Linda Tranna. They made their home in Custer and to this union were born two sons, Troy and Corey.
David passed away peacefully surrounded by his family in the early morning hours of May 6, 2024. He was 78.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Greer and Marcella Parsons; his former wife, Linda; and his brother, Gary Parsons.
David is survived by his two sons, Troy Parsons and special friend Nicole of Custer, S.D.; Corey (Jeanne) Parsons of Avoco, Minn., brothers, Ron Parsons of Spearfish, S.D., and Billy Joe Parsons of Custer; sister, Linda Davis of Fleming Island, Fla; five grandchildren, Cody, Jasmine, Patience, Kate and David; two great-grandchildren, Clay and Whitley; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
At David’s request there will not be a funeral or burial service.
