Dale Zweber

Dale Alan Zweber, 74 of Custer, S.D., passed away Thursday, April 23, 2026, at his home in Custer.
Dale was born Nov. 29, 1951, in Hoven, S.D.,  to Ray and Doris (Beringer) Zweber.
Dale attended grade school and high school in Hoven while being raised on the family farm. He graduated with the Hoven class of 1970.
He attended Minot State College for business and played football, baseball and took track. Dale ventured out after college graduation and some of the cities he lived and worked in included Albuquerque, N.M., Denver, Colo., area and Yakima, Wash., where he built a new home and started his own business called Tractor Works which involved all aspects of landscaping. Dale moved to Lead, S.D., continuing with his landscaping business.
Dale retired in Custer, where he loved the area, people and activities that kept his days full of things such as golfing, playing pool and cards. He also loved exploring the area on his ATV and enjoying the sights.
Dale is survived by brothers, Bill (Donna) of Hoven, Richard of Maricopa, Ariz.; nephews, Jesse (Denise) of Hoven, Jeff (Brittany) of Brookings, S.D.; niece, Josie (Tom) of Hoven;  great-nieces, Bailey (Gregg)  of  Hoven and Zoey of Hoven; great-nephews, Jonney of Hoven, and Cade, Blaine and Nash of Brookings.
Dale is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Doris.
Dale was a people person who loved good friends and got along with everybody and would lend a helping hand at any time to anyone in need.  He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
A celebration of Dale’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 9, at the Custer Senior Center.

Memorials may be given to the Custer Senior Center or Custer Alanon Society. 
Arrangements have been placed in the care of Chamberlain McColley’s Funeral Home in Custer.
