Chris Beesley

Chris Beesley was born Nov. 5, 1954, in Mitchell, S.D., to George and Lila Beesley.  He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1973, and from the University of South Dakota School of Law in 1981.
Soon after graduation he moved to the Black Hills of South Dakota, where he practiced as a deputy state’s attorney in Butte and Pennington counties.  He moved to Custer, S.D., in 1984, and started his private law practice.  He thoroughly enjoyed living and practicing law in his beloved city of Custer, providing services to his clients.
Chris passed away Aug. 11, 2021, at Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, S.D. He was 66.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Clare; and his sister, Diane.
Chris is survived by his wife, Susan of Custer; sons, Tony “Baloney” Madsen of Rapid City and Rob “Bert” (Mary) Lane of Loveland, Colo.; daughters, Tiffany “Tippy Canoe” (Shawn) Preston of Denver, Colo.,  Michelle “Mick The Stick,” Ron ‘RJ’ Kline of Rapid City and Angel “Angelica” Pope of Rapid City; brothers, Craig (Lynine) Beesley of Denver, Colo., and Chad Beesley of Sioux Falls, S.D.; grandchildren, Garrett “Gert” Kline, Gage “Gdub” Kline, Griffin “Griffy Jr.” Kline, Kayla “Waber” Preston, Aiden “Mr. Aiden” Preston, Riley “Squirt” Preston and Abby Mae “Bea” Lane.
A celebration of life for Chris was held Aug. 16 at the Feel Good Café at the Bavarian Inn in Custer.
