Carl Wilson

Carl Lewis Wilson was born May 16, 1942, in Custer, S.D.; Carl was the son of Clark and Mabel (Gray) Wilson.
Carl proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He moved to the Silver Valley in 1978 from North Platte, Neb.
Carl had first owned and operated a gravel truck business. He then served as a driver for Consolidated Freightways for 28 years.
Carl was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.  He loved and enjoyed jeeping, collecting guns, pheasant and goose hunting, fishing, his beloved black lab dogs and woodworking.  Carl was instrumental in trying to establish and preserve a wildlife crossing between Silverton and Osburn, Idaho. He loved visiting with friends and was an amazing mentor.
Carl, of Mullan, Idaho, passed away Dec. 19, 2022 at his home. He was 83.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Wayne and Ben; and one sister, Mary Ellen.
Carl is survived by one son, Darin Wilson of Fairfield, Wash.; his very special friend, Susan O’Shea of Mullan; several nephews and many dear friends.  
A Celebration of Carl’s Life will be held and announced at a later date.
The family suggests that memorials may be made in Carl’s name, to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, 5705 Grant Creek Rd. Missoula, MT 59808 or to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
