Byron Marteny

Byron Ira Marteny was born July 23, 1935, in Nebraska to Odin and Ruth (Robinson) Marteny. He married Janice in 1962 and they raised seven children.
Byron, of Custer, S.D., passed away April 3, 2024. He was 88.
He was preceeded in death by his parents; his granddaughter, Casey Parker; and siblings, Lee, Peggy, Gladys, Albert, Roger, Jerry, Charlie and John.
Byron is survived by his wife, Janice of Custer; sons, Tom Breen, Timmy Joe Marteny, Keith Marteny, Robert Marteny and Daniel Marteny; daughters, Susan Sparvell and Ann Kasiska; 13 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.  
Services will be held at a later date.
Arrangements have been placed in the care of Chamberlain McColley’s Funeral Home in Custer.
