Last week was the start of the second quarter of school! It seems like just yesterday, we were gathering for the grilling on the green and celebrating our first week of school.
It has been a very good first quarter of school. We have thrived through learning our routines, growing in our academics, homecoming, picture day, fall activities and so much more.
According to Hill City School District business manager, Anjar Voorhees, “The Angel Fund is basically funds available for families that are struggling to pay for students’ negative meal balances.”
Over the last two years, meal costs were not a challenge since the school district was able to offer free breakfast and lunch for all students during the pandemic. However, as of the beginning of the school year, meal costs have returned to normal.
During the Hill City School District Board of Education meeting Oct. 10, the board recognized and honored their school principals in the spirit of National School Principal Month.
Samantha Weaver is the elementary school principal and has been involved in education for 26 years. According to superintendent Blake Gardner, “This is her fourth year in the Hill City School District, and she’s doing awesome.”
