Mueller, Mechaley are candidates for Pennington County Sheriff

Ryan Mechaley and Brian Mueller are running for Pennington County Sheriff on the Republican ticket in the June 7 election.
Mechaley is a small business owner of Safety Consulting Firm & Trucking and was a state trooper and supervisor with the South Dakota Highway Patrol for 15 years.

This is the first in a series of articles that will look at the non-owner-occupied nightly rentals in residentially zoned areas within the city of Hill City issue. The next article will be from the petitioner herself, and her motivation followed by a resident who lives in a planned unit development which currently allows vacation rentals but will lose that right if this passes.
According to city officials, the City Hill City has not received an initiated measure, or IM, in at least the last 15 years. Until now, that is.

— Stacey Phillips and Jobie Wagner of Rapid City took over ownership of Rabbit Bicycles, which was started by Joey and Eddie Bonds over a decade ago. Phillips was the majority owner and Wagner was to work as the manager. Phillips and Wagner also wanted to start a coffee shop in the Rabbit Bicycles store. They planned to use the building’s existing kitchen to prepare Costa Rican coffee and dole out tasty treats from Caramel Creations in Rapid City.
