David Drafahl, 56, of Custer, S.D., passed away July 27, 2026. 
He is survived by his wife, Tina Rogers.   
Arrangements have been placed in the care of Chamberlain McColley’s Funeral Home in Custer.

Melvin Kenneth “Kenny” Kainz of Custer, S.D., passed away peacefully at Monument Hospital in Custer July 11, 2026. 
Kenny was born Aug. 4, 1937, near Pierz, Minn. at home to Vernon and Vernie Kainz. He grew up with his four sisters (Gladys, Gayle, Grace and Vera) and his two brothers (Richard and Dean). He and his siblings helped his parents run a farm along the Platte River near Pierz.

Susan “Suzy” Conlon passed into eternal life July 15, 2026. She was born Aug. 31, 1957, in Tracy, Minn., to Curt and Betty Halverson. 
Suzy attended Custer (S.D.) High School, graduating in 1975, and later attended National College of Business in Rapid City, S.D. 

Faye Bebo

Faye M. Bebo passed away June 12, 2026, at Monument Health  Hospital in Custer, S.D.
Faye was born Feb. 6, 1940, to Lester and Theresa Chandler near Aberdeen, S.D. She spent her youth on a farm in Brown County, S.D. 
On Sept. 26, 1958, she married Ronald Bebo in Pierre, S.D, and together they headed to California to find work.

Barrett Michael Bush was born May 9, 2009, at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida to Zachary and Bridgette Bush. Barrett spent his earliest years growing up on the water along the beaches of Florida’s Gulf Coast. 

Adam Hadlock

Adam Wayne Hadlock, 33, Custer, S.D., passed away in Rapid City, S.D., Sunday, July 5, 2026, due to a medical condition.
Adam was born May 16, 1993, in Custer, the son of Jennifer and Dusty.
He attended the Custer School District and graduated with the class of 2011. Adam grew up alongside his uncle, Jerad; his brothers, Cody and Lucas; and his sister, Sarah.

Jennie Dooley

Jennie Marie Dooley, a devoted mother, grandmother and friend, was born Nov. 25, 1945 at the family farm near Oldham, S.D., to Edward and Allie Becker. 
She attended a country school with her siblings until fifth grade and graduated from Oldham High School.  Jennie moved around a bit until landing in Custer, S.D., where she raised her three sons, who were the light of her life.  She later moved to Pringle, S.D., where she took pride in having the best backyard in the neighborhood.

Carol ‘Sunny’ Reeves

Carol Dagmar “Sunny” Sundstrom Reeves passed away peacefully at Heritage Place Assisted Living in Rapid City, S.D., the morning of June 29, 2026 after a long battle with declining health.   She was loved and will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.   
Sunny was born June 19, 1934, in Waban near Newton just outside of Boston, Mass., to Charles Alfred Sundstrom, Jr., and Frances Lucy Carrier.
